As per local residents, over 10 young civilians, including 5 females, were apprehended as recruits around 6:00 PM on March 28th at a gym in Myitkyina, Kachin State.

An unidentified group in civilian attire arrived in two vehicles and apprehended a minimum of 10 young civilians at Alpha Gym, located on the Main Road of San Pya Ward in Myitkyina.

A young man passing by recounted, "I was riding my motorbike past the gym around 6:00 PM. I noticed a gathering and assumed it was related to a motorbike theft incident. As I observed, I witnessed young civilians being coerced into queuing up and boarding the two cars. There were around 10 individuals, including 5 girls, possibly more," he explained.

Consequently, in light of safety concerns for their customers, certain gyms and restaurants have opted to close their doors ahead of schedule.

Since March 17, when the SAC began issuing summons to village quarters through ward administrators, reports of young civilians being apprehended on the streets, at restaurants, gyms, and even barber shops in Myitkyina Town have become increasingly common.

According to local residents, the ongoing military conflict between two armed groups has led to a escalation in armed clashes in Kachin State. As a result, both forces are actively recruiting young civilians for new reinforcement.

Furthermore, following the promulgation of the Conscription Law by the SAC on February 10th, summons for military service have been issued to neighborhoods since March 17th. Additionally, ward administrators have been granted authority to detain young pedestrians for military service.
