University Student Drowns at Sut Mu Aung Waterfall Near Laiza Town

A university student from Bhamo drowned yesterday at Sut Mu Aung waterfall near Laiza Town along the China border, according to local residents.

The deceased student, identified as Maung Ding Ring Gum Ja Li, approximately 23 years old from Bhamo University, reportedly entered the water despite not knowing how to swim, believing the area to be shallow.

A local resident stated the student had been visiting relatives when the incident occurred. On April 21 after 4 PM, the victim went to the waterfall with friends and drowned while wading in the water.

Although the accident occurred yesterday, the body was only recovered today at 2 PM.
