The individuals who absconded with nearly 3 viss of gold during the robbery in Kawng Kahtawng village, located in Putao Township, remain at large. Furthermore, it is also known that the local police and officials from the gold shop, who are accountable for supplying information to the perpetrators, have issued a letter that has been made public.

A reward of 100,000,000 kyats will be granted to anyone who can supply precise information regarding the fugitives, as indicated in the statement. Furthermore, it is noted that a reward of 1,000,000,000 kyats will be available if both the accused individuals and the gold items are apprehended.

In the previous years, such incidents were uncommon in the Putao region; however, following the coup, the proliferation of gold mining activities and a rise in drug use have contributed to an increase in robberies in the area.

On November 24th, it was reported that thieves stole a vehicle containing three Viss of gold and cash belonging to the owner of Zaburiz Gold Shop. This incident occurred while the owner was retrieving items from his home to prepare for his trip to the shop. Although the car was recovered the following day, the gold and cash remained missing.

The residents of Putao are actively pursuing the thieves until they are apprehended.
