The Shanni Militia Is Actively Conscripting Young Individuals In Hopin, Whereas The Hopin KPDF Has Released A Statement Inviting New Recruits To Join Their Forces

The Shanni Militia is actively conscripting young individuals in Hopin, Mohnyin Township. In response, the Hopin KPDF released a statement on February 4, indicating that they are also welcoming new recruits to their forces.


The statement states that new recruits must be at least 18 years old, be in good health, and be able to endure hardship, along with nine other requirements, along with the words, “The Hopin People’s Defense Force wants you,” and that you are warmly welcomed to join the Hopin People’s Defense Force.


Furthermore, it is emphasized that individuals must demonstrate loyalty to both the public and the revolution, adhere to the regulations established by the regiment, fulfill the responsibilities and obligations assigned by their superiors, and be prepared to accept any penalties imposed by the regiment for breaches of these rules.


In contrast, the Shanni Militia is currently engaged in the recruitment of new soldiers in Hopin township, Mohnyin township, through the abduction and conscription of young men. On January 24, a total of 40 young men from Hopin township were recruited by the Shanni Militia in a single day.


The Shanni Militia is said to be enlisting 5,000 soldiers and is offering three months of military training to the abducted youth. They are arming these individuals and designating them to guard checkpoints, as reported by local residents.
