Local news reports indicate that the SAC has issued threats to over 1,000 residents of Kanpaik Ti, located on the border with China, compelling them to evacuate since the onset of intense clashes in Pang Wa town, Kachin Special Region (1), on October 18th.
Over ten days have passed since more than 1,000 residents of Kanpaik Ti have been forced to flee due to ongoing hostilities. Despite this, the joint forces of the SAC and militia remain stationed in the city center. Consequently, while the residents are hesitant to return without assurances of safety, the SAC is urging them to come back to their homes.
Following the assault by the KIA joint forces, which resulted in the capture of the Pang Wa region, hostilities shifted towards the vicinity of the Kanpaik Ti area. Reports indicate that the majority of local residents have evacuated to safety, with the exception of the elderly, those suffering from chronic illnesses, and caretakers.
The clashes between the two military factions commenced in September within the Kachin Special Region (1). Furthermore, the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) joint forces launched assaults and captured Chipwi town on October 1, Saw Law town on October 2, and Pang Wa town on October 18.
Currently, the Kanpaik Ti Border Guard No. 1003 Battalion was assaulted and seized by the KIA joint forces on October 21st. The military situation remains precarious in the area surrounding Kanpaik Ti Town.
