Residents reported that the SAC forces in Mohnyin town were discharging heavy artillery despite the absence of any armed conflict and were conducting patrols in military vehicles throughout the village.
The ongoing heavy artillery shelling, which has persisted since the afternoon of January 2, has caused significant concern among local residents regarding the potential impact of the heavy weaponry.
The local from Htan Tapin reported, "Since noon yesterday and continuing late into the night, heavy weaponry has relentlessly targeted our area from Htan Tapin. The bombardment persists even today. I am afraid to visit the farm, as there have been civilian casualties due to heavy artillery in the past. It is unsafe to stay at home, which is why I must seek refuge at my relatives' residences."
A convoy of 15 military vehicles, transporting nearly 200 soldiers, ascended to Htan Tabin village. Upon their return, they conducted a parade through the town, displaying their military might, which instilled fear among the local residents regarding the possibility of gunfire.
A reported incident involved the amputation of a woman's left arm at the base due to an artillery shell fired by the SAC, which struck her residence in Htan Tabin village.
