Residents of the Inndawgyi area are concerned as about 300 SAC troops began entering the region in Mohnyin Township on the evening of May 27th.
"Yesterday at 7:00 PM, about 300 SAC troops arrived from the Hopin side in four military vehicles. Typically, they head towards Maing Nawng, but this time they moved to the east side of Inndawgyi Lake. People fear skirmishes might occur in the village," a local resident reported.
According to a local resident, around 300 SAC troops entered from Sanun Kone village on the east side of Inndawgyi Lake and advanced to Chaung Wa Village yesterday evening.
Locals are preparing to evacuate to safety due to the SAC’s presence in the Inndawgyi region. Additionally, the KIA has issued a notice to stockpile food since late April.
Since March 7th, the Kachin Independence Army (KIA/KPDF) joint forces have been capturing SAC military camps in Kachin State, seizing more than 100 camps in two months and gaining control of 8 towns.
