It has been reported that the SAC forces have been conducting daily raids in the villages surrounding Putao city, specifically within the KIA No (1) Brigade area, since the beginning of this week. This situation has raised security concerns among the local residents.
The SAC forces, along with the joint militia forces, are presently deployed at Longa Hill in Hpat Ma Village, located in the Putao Region. The local population is expressing concern over the potential for a skirmish, prompted by the escalating military activities of both the SAC and the militia forces, which are ongoing.
Currently, the local population is expressing concern that inspections of their homes and travel may become more stringent. This apprehension arises from the actions of the SAC joint forces, who are reportedly utilizing the residents of Hpat Ma village as human shields, engaging in military operations within the village, and increasing their troop presence. Residents have indicated their fear of potentially needing to evacuate for safety once again in the event of renewed hostilities.
According to a local resident, on November 20th, the SAC carried out aerial bombardments on the KIA No. 1 Brigade area four times, with two of the bombs detonating and the remaining two did not explode.
On the same day, the SAC conducted aerial bombardments on the KIA No. 7 Battalions area more than four times, with two of the strikes resulting in explosions. This day also marked the moment when the KIA launched a full-scale assault and successfully seized the last remaining trading town of Kanpaik Ti within the border guard region.
