The Residents Of Lawt Mai Yang Village In Tanai Town Suffered A Lot Of Damage Due To The Strong Wind Storm

As stated by the local resident, many residential houses were damaged due to a strong wind storm and heavy rain at 7:42 PM, on April 2nd, in Lawt Mai Yang Village of Tanai Town in Kachin State.


“All the roofs of the houses were destroyed because of the strong wind storm and some household items were also blown away by the wind last night. As of this morning, we had to pick them up from the street,” said a local resident of Lawt Mai Yang.


Furthermore, due to the strong winds, heavy rains and hailstorms, roof tiles of the residents’ houses were damaged and many household items were damaged as well, the above resident added.

Lawt Mai Yang Village is a small village that was established for the evacuees who fled from the armed conflict areas in 2021, and it is a village settled with more than 30 houses.


According to the Maw Lakin resident, the tin roofs of the houses were damaged and some of the local residents were injured due to a strong wind storm and egg-sized hail in Mawlakin village, Hpakant Town, on March 26th.
