According to committee members, a new village called Wun Zup has been established in the restricted area called Dagaw Buk in the north of the Waingmaw – Washawng road in Waingmaw Township, Kachin State.
“The IDPs from Nanng Zaw Yang, Nlung Yang and Kasel Yang village, who have been staying at Waingmaw Nazerath church, do not want to stay in the camp anymore. They asked their church to find a place to stay due to the fact that they couldn’t return to their villages. The elders of the churches led and requested the relevant government officials to establish a new village. Government officials have also given permission to establish a new village on 350 acres of the Dagaw Buk restricted area,” said U Hkawng Lum who is the committee member of establishing the new village.
According to the committee, the area of the Wun Zup village, which is currently under construction, is intended for the IDPs from Nang Zaw Yang, Nlung Yang and Kasel Yang villages.
