The Nan Htike Ko phone and accessories shop which has been giving internet access to the locals for 20,000 kyats per hour has been closed since yesterday and the service charge of utilizing the internet have been raised to 25,000 kyats.
As said by the shop owner, the shop was closed due to the lag of connection under the horrible weather and it will only be closed just two days from August 19th to 20th. In addition, the shop will be opened on August 21st and the internet service charge for using with mobile phone costs 20,000 kyats have been raised to 25,000 kyats per hour while using internet with laptop costs 30,000 kyats per hour.
The internet could be used by charging fees at Nan Htike Ko shop since the mid of August and the locals have been rushing to use the internet in the limited time. In addition, the number of people who have been waiting to use the internet at the shop are approximately around (50) every day. Therefore, there was an inspection by the Military forces under suspicion.
The internet can be used in the limited time between 7:00 in the morning and 5:00 in the evening at Nan Htike Ko shop as usual. In addition, the KPay and Wavepay money withdrawal services can also be done in that shop with 3,000 ks transition fees per lakh (3%) and the people who transfer money only need to pay 300 ks transition fees per lakh (0.3%).
The phone signals and internet have been cut off since 21st July due to the unstable political situation. However, the MPT and Atom operators have access depending on the limited time and limited places since the beginning of August. Nevertheless, it has been nearly 1 month since the internet has been cut off.
