It is reported that, after the completely seizing of the SAC military camp stationed at Tayang Zup Village, Sumprabum Township by the Kachin Independent Army (KIA) in the beginning of August, the SAC troops who surrendered by showing the white flag are deserting on the highway of Nsawp, Myitsone (Tang Hpre) village.
Hence, the local residents are travelling in fear in that area.
As claimed by the Christian Bishop who is preparing to go to Sumprabum for his church affairs, he is not dare to travel due to the SAC troops who are deserting in Nsawp, Myitsone (Tang Hpre) area. In addition, he explained as follows-
“I don’t dare to travel alone, because when I inquired the information about the journey to Sumprabum, people told me about the deserted SAC troops. Therefore, I’ll wait and see the situation two or three days before I travel.”
As stated by the local residents, approximately 40 SAC troops who fled from the previous armed-clashes which took in Tayang Zup village are currently deserting on the highway of Nsawp-Myitsone (Tang Hpre) and they show up on the street suddenly and occasionally.
The SAC forces closed the road and water-course indefinitely in Tayangzup village due to the military tension between the two armed-forces. However, the locals who travel by the motorbikes are allowed to travel after interrogation along the way.
Even so the local residents are reported to be afraid travelling from Tang Hpre to Sumprabum due to the above information.
