The Kachin Independence Organization (KIO) declared on November 28th that it has revoked the designation of Kachin Special Region (1).
The statement indicated that the KIA assumed control over the areas designated as Kachin Special Region (1) in order to promote unity among the ethnic communities in the Kachin region, enabling them to coexist as equals without any distinctions.
Furthermore, it has been articulated that the KIO is committed to diligently working towards the reconstruction and enhancement of the people's economy, alongside implementing a humanitarian-focused policy and development strategy that avoids social harm. Additionally, it has been emphasized that all investors and the local population residing under the jurisdiction of Kachin Special Region (1) need not be concerned and are encouraged to collaborate with the KIO in fostering comprehensive development collectively.
