The Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and allied forces have reportedly launched an assault and successfully seized control of the town of Pang Wa, located along the Chinese border.
In the city of Pang Wa, the KIO administration is actively engaged in the operation of police stations; however, educational institutions have yet to be established. Furthermore, the city is experiencing a lack of electricity, and the existing border trade checkpoints remain closed. As a result, the Panwa area is facing challenges due to a shortage of goods.
The administrative mechanism prepared by the KIO/KIA is being implemented, and it has been reported that hospitals, clinics, and schools are resuming operations.
The KIA joint forces have been conducting assaults on the Kachin Special Region (1) since late September, culminating in the capture of Pang Wa town on September 18th. Furthermore, the residences of U Zahkung Ting Ying, the leader of the border guard, along with all properties belonging to the militia, border guards, and their affiliates, have been sealed off by the KIA.
Currently, reports indicate that efforts are underway to implement KIO administrative mechanisms in the occupied regions.
