According to Lt. Col. Gun Maw, despite the ongoing armed conflict not only in Kachin State but throughout the nation, the State Administration Council (SAC) is making preparations to conduct elections aimed at consolidating their power. While it is essential for a nation to eventually hold genuine elections, the upcoming elections organized by the SAC are unlikely to yield positive outcomes for the welfare of the country.

The SAC is actively carrying out the census to facilitate nationwide elections scheduled for the year 2025, despite the ongoing armed conflicts throughout Myanmar.

“There is no justification for conducting elections in the regions under our control. Furthermore, we will refrain from issuing any directives or prohibitions to the populace while the SAC is in the process of organizing elections. We will establish a team to monitor the SAC's election procedures,” stated General Gun Maw.

The election organized by the SAC is unlikely to yield favorable outcomes. Furthermore, while it may be feasible to secure victories in areas where elections are permissible, the resulting political integrity and potential losses would be clearly evident.

The overall assessment by General Gun Maw indicates that the strength of the SAC's personnel is presently inadequate; however, they retain operational capabilities in both aerial and artillery units. Despite the limitations in manpower, the SAC is still capable of executing offensive operations that may inflict damage, even if these actions do not result in a decisive military victory or defeat based on equipment superiority.

KIA's initiative to eliminate tyranny has been collaborating with the ethnic anti-coup armed forces since its inception. It has been reported that during the spring revolution, there has been consistent communication with the anti-coup armed forces, particularly the MOD groups. Furthermore, it is understood that they are all working together during the conflicts occurring in the Sagaing region.

The ethnic anti-coup armed forces declined the invitation by the State Administration Council (SAC) regarding the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA). They perceived the SAC's proposal as lacking in generosity and believed that the timing for such an invitation was inappropriate.

To effectively tackle the political issue, it is crucial to involve discussions that encompass all ethnic groups at some point; only through this inclusive approach can the political conflict be resolved. Furthermore, it remains necessary to achieve a political dialogue. However, it has been noted that any resulting agreement will differ from the National Ceasefire Agreement (NCA).

The essential factor in addressing the conflict in Myanmar is to maintain political will, ensure its coordination, and avoid repeating past mistakes that are deemed unforgivable. Furthermore, it is suggested that by accomplishing the aforementioned three objectives, we can achieve a state where all parties are able to engage in the dialogue.
