KIA joint forces initiated an offensive along the Chinese border at the end of September, successfully seizing all significant military installations held by the border guards. Ground sources report that gunfire was audible in the vicinity of the remaining town of Kanpaik Ti starting on the morning of November 20.

In the present circumstances, it cannot be definitively stated that hostilities have commenced. Reports indicate that the SAC forces in the city of Kanpaik Ti are persistently discharging both heavy and light weaponry towards the route that the KIA joint forces may utilize for entry.

Individuals also sought refuge due to the indiscriminate heavy artillery fire from the SAC. Currently, the KIA joint forces are engaged in military operations near the Kanpaik Ti area, and reports indicate a tense military standoff between the two armed-forces.

Following KIA's military actions near the Chinese border in September, the organization successfully seized the city of Pang Wa, which is adjacent to the border. In response, the Chinese government closed all border crossings.

Recently, the Chinese government has reopened the Kanpaik Ti border gate in Kachin State, permitting the entry of food and certain goods, with the exception of fuel. Nevertheless, other border gates in Kachin State continue to remain closed.

The Chinese government has advised against launching an attack on the town of Kanpaik Ti in the interest of maintaining peace along the border. However, the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) has asserted that if they are able to establish control along the border, stability and peace will be achieved, prompting them to persist in their offensive actions.
