KIA joint forces are actively engaged in military operations in the Khaung Lan Phu region of upper Kachin State, where they have allegedly taken control of a militia military camp.
Military sources from Kachin reported that on the evening of the 15th, the Lahu Se militia camp, which housed nearly 100 personnel, was assaulted and taken over by the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and the Kachin People's Defense Force (KPDF) in Khaung Lan Phu Township, Putao District. Additionally, it was noted that the majority of the militia members had already vacated the camp, while a small number of injured individuals who were unable to flee were apprehended.
The conflict involving the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and its allies in their attempt to seize the towns of Bhamo and Mansi, which commenced on December 4, remains ongoing. Intense combat persists, resulting in the KIA and its allies successfully taking control of the majority of military installations in the area.
