As reported by an online English instructor, it is really difficult to start online English class after the internet cut off in Kachin State. In addition, the entire of the online businesses in Kachin State are also in trouble and became jobless due to the phone signals and internet cut off.
According to the above online English instructor, “I mostly teach English to people who work and study abroad, such as Malaysia, Thailand and other countries. Due to the sudden internet cut off all of my students, including me got trouble, we couldn’t continue our online class anymore.”
In addition, a person who does online shopping from Myitkyina said, “I mainly do online business for my living. Most of my incomes are from the online business. Therefore, because of the internet cut off, I have no idea to do anything. I just feel like a jobless person during these days.”
Most of the business which relied on online, such as online classes, online shopping and other online businesses had to stop all of their businesses.
Consequently, most of the people who do online businesses are requesting to get the internet and phone signals back. Additionally, it is known that due to the unstable political situation and the internet cut off, most of the Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) and International Non-Government Organizations (INGOs) which based in Myitkyina have prepared to move their organizations to the other internet access areas.
The phone operators such as MPT, Atom, Ooredoo and Mytel have been cut off signals and internet since July 21st. Furthermore, the MPT phone signal has started accessing in August and the Atom phone signal has also started accessing in August 6th. However, the internet access of all operators is still cut off.
