A collision occurred between a car and a motorcycle in Tat Kone, San Pya Ward, Myitkyina, Kachin State, at approximately 7 p.m. on January 6th. An eyewitness reported that the motorcycle operator sustained severe injuries and was subsequently transported to the hospital.
An eyewitness informed Pajau Media that the incident took place the night before, when a vehicle traveling from the Edin Ward direction struck a motorcycle that was making a left turn without signaling.
The witness stated, "The vehicle was proceeding directly from Edin when the motorcycle made a left turn without signaling. This caused the car to lose control and collide with the motorcyclist, propelling him to the opposite side of the road. The only apparent injury was blood on his hand, as he was dressed in thick clothing, obscuring any internal injuries."
The motorcycle driver was a young male, around 20 years of age, while the car was being driven by another young male, resulting in a total of three individuals in the vehicle.
“The young man was experiencing bleeding from his hands, and as bystanders administered medication, he abruptly began to feel lightheaded. The individuals nearby attempted to call for an ambulance; however, the phone was out of service, prompting them to transport him to Myitkyina General Hospital. Due to his thick, warm clothing, his injuries were not immediately visible, yet it was possible that he had sustained serious harm,” the witness elaborated.
On January 5, a 20-year-old female lost her life in a collision involving a car and a motorcycle in the Myo Thit Gyi area.
The Social Relief Association reports that, on average, one individual loses their life in traffic accidents each month in Myitkyina.
