In Myitkyina, Kachin State, the State Administration Council (SAC) has enhanced security measures in the city starting from January 8. Subsequently, on January 9, a ceremony was held to commemorate the 77th Kachin State Day, which featured a traditional Manau dance.

A local resident has reported that the SAC has stationed police and military personnel at traffic lights and intersections in Myitkyina in preparation for Kachin State Day, which is observed on January 10.

Security measures have been implemented since yesterday, presumably in observance of Kachin State Day. Additional security has been established since January 9th, including barricades along the road adjacent to the city hall, as reported by a local resident.

The SAC conducted a Manau dance at the state government office in Myitkyina on the morning of January 9th, ensuring stringent security measures were in place. Attendance was limited to members of the Kachin State government and the SAC. The event was graced by the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Tin Aung San and State Executive Council member Daw Doi Bu, who participated in the opening ceremony.

The Kachin State Day ceremony organized by the SAC will also feature the Padang Manau, a traditional dance performed by the Kachin ethnic group to commemorate war victories, alongside the Manau dances, which represent unity and economic prosperity.

The event will be graced by the presence of local militia leaders, representatives from the Ethnic Literature and Traditional Culture Association, the commander of the Northern Command along with his officers, the Union Minister, the Chief Minister of Kachin State, and various government officials.
