Rigorous inspections of vehicles and motorcycles transporting fuel from Mohnyin Township in Kachin State are currently being conducted in front of the immigration office. Furthermore, a lawyer from Mohnyin reported that the fuel tankers and their drivers were apprehended around 6:00 PM on December 9th.
According to the statements provided by the apprehended individuals, the estimated total value of the confiscated assets, comprising 15 motorcycles and 2 cars, along with over 10 drivers, is approximately 38,000,000 kyats.The seized vehicles
Local residents report that the individuals and vehicles transporting fuel in front of the Immigration office were apprehended by a coalition of officials, including Immigration personnel, representatives from the Petroleum Department, local police, general office staff, land surveyors, ward administrators, and military members. Furthermore, the vehicles, including cars and motorcycles, along with the fuel, were confiscated and designated as public property.

Furthermore, the drivers have been indicted under the Petroleum Law at the Mohnyin Police Station, as reported by a source affiliated with the Petroleum Department. It is understood that violations of the Petroleum Law may lead to a prison sentence of up to one year and impose fines between 300,000 and 5,000,000 kyats.
Local residents make their livelihood by transporting one gallon of fuel per motorcycle. Nevertheless, they are encountering challenges due to the stringent enforcement of arrests.
