The remains of an unidentified male were discovered in a state of decomposition near a bush at the periphery of Aung Tha Pyay Ward in Mohnyin Township.
A representative from the Metta Lay Nyin Social Relief Association stated, "I believe he has been deceased for approximately a week. Residents in the vicinity of the incident reported a foul odor and upon investigation were informed that it was a dead body. The identity of the deceased remains unknown yet."
The remains were found at approximately 12 PM on February 19th, following an investigation prompted by an odor emanating from the vicinity. The identity of the deceased has not yet been established.
The Social Relief Association has assessed that the individual may have succumbed to a drug overdose, as a needle was discovered hanging from his arm during the process of transporting the body by the Association.
Residents of Mohnyin have reported a rise in the number of abandoned corpses since the disruption of phone signals and internet services in the area.
