The armed-clashes between the KIA and the SAC forces in the Momauk region, specifically within the KIA No (3) Brigade area, remained intense up until yesterday, October 6.
The KIA joint forces are reported to have launched an offensive on the SAC military camp located near the 7-mile village, situated between Momauk and Bhamo, at approximately 5:00 AM on October 6th. Furthermore, the conflict between the two armed-forces has escalated once more.
Local news reports indicate that the SAC conducted aerial bombardments using jet fighters on more than two occasions and also deployed drones to indiscriminately drop bombs.
The conflict in the Hpakant region has remained intense up to the present day. This includes the tragic death of a woman caused by heavy artillery fire originating from the Hpakant military base. Furthermore, the clashes between the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and the State Administration Council (SAC) forces continue to be sporadically fierce.
At present, the SAC forces are attempting a counteroffensive to regain control of the Momauk region, which has been lost. Conversely, the Hpakant area continues to experience intense resistance and assaults, leading to an escalation of armed conflict between the two factions.
