Local accounts indicate that during the conflict between the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and allied forces aimed at seizing Bhamo, some individuals managed to escape but were unable to reach their families. In addition, it is reported that many people are still missing.

During the conflict, certain local inhabitants managed to escape to their relatives in Myitkyina, Shwe Ku, Mandalay, and Loi Je. However, others found themselves confined within the city of Bhamo, while some were compelled to flee due to an inability to reach their families.

The limited number of residents still in Bhamo report that clashes are presently occurring across the entire Bhamo region, resulting in a significant decrease in the local population. Consequently, homes, businesses, and storage facilities are being subjected to looting.

Social Relief Associations have been providing food aid to individuals displaced near N-Bapa village. However, as the conflict persists, food resources have dwindled in the internally displaced persons (IDP) camps that remain inaccessible to these organizations.

According to discussions within the Bhamo Town People's Meeting (Facebook Group), it remains challenging to ascertain the precise number of casualties resulting from the conflict, as communication lines, including phone and internet services, have been disrupted.
