In the continuing conflict in Bhamo, Kachin State, the KIA and the 21st Battalion of the SAC are engaged in intense assaults on the remaining military installations of the SAC. As of February 5th, this fighting has persisted for precisely two months.

In the conflict for Bhamo, which commenced on December 4 of the previous year, forces associated with the Kachin Independence Army successfully seized control of the 7006th Armored Battalion, a military installation located in Bhamo, on January 24, followed by the capture of the 366th Artillery Battalion on February 2.

On February 5, the 236th Battalion and the 21st Battalion of the SAC are facing significant assaults, prompting the SAC to deploy airstrikes, artillery, and drones in an effort to counter the offensive. In a similar situation, the 88th Battalion, located at Bhamo University, along with the 47th Infantry Battalion and the 641st Battalion, is also under attack. Reports indicate that the clashes between the two armed-forces are particularly fierce.

The conflict between the two military forces is escalating, with the SAC frequently targeting aerial bombardments at Naung Kho, Shwe Kyi Na, Nant Pha, Pin Sin Kone, and areas in proximity to Bhamo University.

Consequently, over the course of the two-month conflict, numerous residents of Bhamo have sought refuge elsewhere, encountering significant challenges in obtaining aid, while many of the homes they abandoned have suffered damage or been destroyed by fire.

The KIA, AA, ABSDF, and KPDF are collaborating in the Battle of Bhamo, as reported by the Banmaw Scout Team, which is providing updates on the regional situation.
