The Clashes Escalated In Proximity To Pang Wa Town Following The Capture Of Chipwi And Saw Law Towns By The KIA Joint Forces

Local news reports indicate that skirmishes between the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) joint forces and the State Administration Council (SAC) forces commenced on October 10th in proximity to Pang Wa Town, which is the headquarters of the Kachin Special Region (1) region along the China border. Furthermore, the ongoing fierce armed conflict has been exacerbated by SAC airstrikes, continuing to this day.


The location of the ongoing skirmish is identified as Lu Pyi village, situated between Chipwi and Pang Wa. Furthermore, reports indicate that the SAC forces are employing airstrikes in the vicinity of the conflict.


Following the seizure of Chipwi town on September 29 and Sawlaw town on October 2 by the KIA joint forces, hostilities between the two armed-forces shifted towards the Chipwi-Pang Wa highway, resulting in an escalation of skirmishes near Pang Wa town.


Ongoing clashes are occurring between the two armed-forces in the Chipwi and Pang Wa regions. In response to the conflict, local inhabitants, including those from Lu Pyi village, have sought refuge in evacuation zones. Furthermore, reports indicate that a significant number of residents have relocated to Pang Wa town.


Local news reports indicate that the conflict remains severe in the Kachin Special Region (1), which is governed by U Zahkung Ting Ying. Furthermore, the SAC joint forces are vigorously opposing with relentless airstrikes.
