Local residents report that, despite the Chinese side's desire to reopen the border gates that have been closed due to heightened armed conflict, the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) has decided to temporarily suspend the reopening of these gates.

It has been reported that while the Chinese authorities are eager to reopen the Loije, Kanpaik Ti, and Laiza border gates, the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) has insisted that all border gates must be opened. The KIA has stated that if not all border gates are reopened, they will not permit the reopening of any of the gates.

Local inhabitants of Laiza have reported that following the reopening of the border gates by the Chinese authorities, there has been a significant increase in the number of cargo trucks waiting at the gate to enter the Burmese side from China.

The Man Wein border gate between China and Myanmar, located in Muse Town in northern Shan State, has been opened on the Chinese side; however, it remains obstructed by the authorities of the State Administration Council (SAC) on the Myanmar side. As a result, over 300 cargo trucks are currently stranded at the gate, with the situation persisting until November 13th.
