Local news reports indicate that the SAC’s 1002nd Battalion of the Border Guard Force, stationed in Lu Pyi village within the Kachin Special Region (1), was completely attacked and captured by joint forces of the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) at approximately 6:00 AM on October 14th.
The 1002nd Border Guard Battalion of the SAC has been attacked by the KIA joint forces since October 9 and was fully captured on October 14. Additionally, it has been reported that the SAC forces conducted aerial bombardments throughout the conflicts.
The ongoing conflict between the two armed-forces in Lu Pyi village has persisted for nearly a week, prompting the local residents to evacuate to safer locations.
The 1002nd Border Guard Battalion, situated in Lu Pyi village, which has been attacked and taken over by the KIA joint forces, is situated 11 miles from Panwa town. Furthermore, Lu Pyi is a small village comprising fewer than 50 households.
Local residents report that the 1002nd battalion, which is based in Lu Pyi village, serves as a guard battalion for Pang Wa city, primarily responsible for ensuring the security of Pang Wa town. This battalion serves as the leading unit among the three Militia battalions.
The 1001st Border Guard Battalion is located in Phi Maw village, while the 1003rd Border Guard Battalion is situated in the town of Kanpaik Ti. Moreover, both of the battalions are desperately recruiting new recruits for their Militia forces.
At present, the SAC forces are engaged in a military operation in the Pang Wa region. Consequently, the military tension between the KIA joint forces and the border guard militia affiliated with the SAC is intensifying.
