In Kachin State's Hpakant Township, military activities by the Military Council have increased significantly, leading to frequent clashes with KIA joint forces and resulting in numerous casualties.
On the morning of June 27th, a fierce battle erupted between approximately 30 soldiers from the Military Council and the KIA/KPDF joint force near Seik Mu village, Seng Taung. Reports indicate that the Military Council has been conducting drone patrols in the area.
On June 26th, the KIA/KPDF joint forces launched a drone attack on the police station hill in Seik Mu village, killing up to 12 personnel, including a police lieutenant colonel and other officers, and injuring six police officers. The KIA also used drones to bomb police and soldiers stationed together.
Local residents report that since June 25th, military activities in Seng Taung village have caused significant concern, with frequent clashes and reinforcements arriving. The ongoing conflict in Seng Taung village has resulted in at least 10 residents being injured due to daily heavy weapon fire from Military Council troops. Additionally, a house in Maw Shan village exploded, injuring four residents, and a car and motorcycle parts shop in Lone Khin village was hit by heavy weaponry.
