Military sources have reported that the SAC forces have initiated a renewed offensive in the vicinity of KIA Brigade (5), Battalion (3), close to WaingMaw-La Myan village, indicating that the military situation remains tense for both parties involved.
SAC forces are said to be making significant progress in substantial numbers towards the villages of La Myan and Nan Zaw Yang, which are currently under the control of the KIA and its allied forces. In addition, they are intermittently deploying drones and heavy artillery in the area.
A resident of Chaungsone stated, "Chaungsone, La Myan, and Nan Zaw Yang are in close proximity, and the sound of gunfire reaches us. While it is not frequently heard during the day, it becomes more pronounced at night."
On January 3, at approximately 4 PM, a confrontation occurred as a contingent of nearly 70 members of the SAC advanced towards the village of WaingMaw-La Myan, where KIA joint forces were positioned.

There have been ongoing military activities on a daily basis in the neighboring villages of La Myan, Nan Zaw Yang, and Wa Shaung. Military analysts suggest that the conflict in Bhamo may potentially resume in the WaingMaw region.
A resident of Chaung Sone reported that several homes in La Myang village sustained damage due to drone and artillery strikes, prompting some inhabitants to seek refuge in Chaung Sone village.
The SAC forces have positioned themselves in front of the 58th Infantry Battalion in WaingMaw, effectively blocking the road and restricting access to the Irrawaddy River marinas, including Khat Cho and Naung Hee. As of today, security measures have been significantly intensified.
Furthermore, the marina located in Nawng Hkring village, which currently serves as a refuge for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Waingmaw, has recently been closed on a temporary basis. This development has raised concerns among the local population, who fear they may become trapped without an escape route in the event of an armed conflict.
