Students at Mai Ja Yang College, located in the education hub of KIO-controlled territory in Kachin State, are facing challenges due to a shortage of classroom seats and increasing living costs.
According to a student, the growing number of enrollees has led to overcrowded classrooms, making it difficult for everyone to secure a seat. Additionally, as the rainy season approaches, students require blankets to cope with the weather. Those who have traveled from distant areas are also struggling to afford daily meals and clothing due to rising prices.
Mai Ja Yang College hosts over a hundred students, including those residing in dormitories and others renting accommodations outside the campus. However, students living off-campus are facing financial hardships as rent and food costs continue to rise.
