Despite the nationwide ceasefire announcement extending through April 22 during Myanmar's earthquake recovery period and traditional Thingyan celebrations, SAC forces have continued daily aerial and artillery attacks on Bhamo town through April 21, according to sources.

Frontline sources report that on April 21 at approximately 3 PM, Bhamo was attacked twice by airstrikes, followed by artillery and drone strikes around 5 PM.

While the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) has observed the ceasefire in Kachin State with no offensive operations through April 22, local residents express concerns that the military situation may escalate dramatically after April 23, potentially spreading conflict to urban areas.

Security analysts advise urban residents to maintain constant vigilance, warning that aerial attacks could occur anytime, anywhere. They note that April 22 marks the expiration date of the bilateral ceasefire declaration by both warring parties.
