Tensions remain high in Kachin State's Lawa village along the Tanai-Lido road, where military aircraft from Myitkyina have been conducting bombing raids until yesterday. Local homes continue to burn as armed conflicts intensify in the area.

Near Lawa village, joint forces of the State Administration Council (SAC) troops and Min Zay Thant militia forces have been engaging in ground assaults while also carrying out airstrikes as recently as April 19.

The SAC troops and Min Zay Thant allied forces have reportedly burned down nearly 100 homes belonging to local villagers in Lawa. They also looted valuable possessions from these houses.

Despite the SAC's declared ceasefire, daily ground offensives and aerial attacks continue unabated across Kachin State. These operations have resulted in destroyed homes and civilian casualties.

The SAC's announced ceasefire period is set to expire on April 22.
