The State Administration Council (SAC) committed a total of 631 human rights violations in March alone, according to a report released yesterday by the Ministry of Human Rights under the National Unity Government (NUG).
The violations include destruction of private property, forced labor, extrajudicial killings, arbitrary arrests, and attacks on civilians using heavy weapons and airstrikes—even in areas with no active conflict.
In Kachin State, there were 17 documented human rights abuses, including nine airstrikes.
Nationwide, 156 attacks on innocent civilians were recorded. These aerial assaults resulted in 337 injuries and 202 deaths, including 25 children under 18. Kachin State saw the highest death toll, with 45 fatalities due to artillery and airstrikes.
Despite the SAC’s announcement of an extended temporary ceasefire from April 22 to 30(following the March 28 earthquake), ground troop movements and airstrikes continue.
