Pajau Media Channel

According to a teacher from Shwe Nyaung Pin School, schools located along the WaingMaw – Laiza main road have been closed indefinitely due to the tense armed clashes in the areas.

A secondary school teacher from Shwe Nyaung Pin told Pajau Media that schools in Shwe Nyaung Pin village were closed due to the intensifying armed conflicts since last December 15.

“All of the schools in Shwe Nyaung Pin, Aung Myay (1) and Aung Myay (2) villages have been closed due to the escalated armed conflicts. I don’t have any idea how long it will take” he said.

On December 15th, after the militia camp of Baw Sar Di village near Shwe Nyaung Pin village was crushed, the local residents feared and fled to nearest villages in search of refuge due to the fact that both forces were escalating their territorial operations. At the same time, the schools were also closed immediately.

As a result, the parents of Shwe Nyaung Pin village are worried about their children’s education due to the indefinite closure of schools.

At the moment, those who are fleeing the war are seeking refuge at their close relatives and acquaintances in WaingMaw town as well as churches and monasteries.

“Some uninhabited houses were burned. So, we need to left one person as a guard to watch the house and all the rest of the family are fleeing the war” a local added the current situation in the village.

Most of the people who are currently fleeing are either due to the armed tension of the revolutionary forces, even heavy artillery and small weaponries are fired close to their surroundings almost every day, therefore they are afraid and fleeing to safe places.

Due to the armed tension of the two forces, the sounds of heavy artilleries firing and explosions were continuously heard until yesterday night, December 19th resulting in constantly alarming and threatening the security of the locals residing around the areas.
