According to local residents, the schools in N-Jang Yang Township, Myitkyina District, Kachin State that were closed after more than a month have been reopening regularly for students under the supervision of the Kachin Independent Organization Education Department.
Although the closed schools have been reopening since the last week of December 2023 under the supervision of the KIO Education Department, the residents said that they still do not have enough teachers to teach.
As the above school teachers are still lacking in the schools, a resident also said that they are still asking for help from the relevant churches in N-Jang Yang Township, the officials and some organizations in the village.
“There is a small need for teachers, so we have asked some organizations and churches for help,” a township resident told Pajau Media via phone.
Since on November 20th, 2023, along with the withdrawal of the police station and other troops in N-Jang Yang Township, the high school principal and some teachers also left, so N-Jang Yang High School and Primary School in the area were closed for almost two months.
There are three Schools in N-Jang Yang Township such as N-Law Yang Primary School, N-Grang Yang Primary School and N-Jang Yang High School and there are about four hundred students who are studying in those schools.
N-Jang Yang Township is located above Myitsone in Kachin State and is under the control of KIA Brigade (1).
