As reported by the local residents, the State Administration Council officials asked permission to deploy their military camp at Nawng Nang Kachin Theological College and Seminary (KTCS), which is located 10 miles away from Myitkyina City.
It is known that the SAC officials came and asked permission to the officials from Nawng Nang Kachin Theological College and Seminary (KTCS) at the end of July.
There had been a rumor that the military forces under the SAC stationed their camp at Nawng Nang Kachin Theological College and Seminary (KTCS), which is located 10 miles away from Myitkyina City, after the phone signals and internet cut off in many areas of Kachin State. However, when the journalist from Pajau Media confirmed the news, the local residents stated that the news that spreading was not true.
“They came to the school and asked permission to deploy their military camp in the school campus. But we denied them, because we have numerous numbers of students here. At present, the school is running as usual. Even though they haven’t stationed at the school campus, they usually patrol around the Nawng Nang area. We have no idea that what will happen in any time, therefore most of the students and the locals have to stay in fear.”
Currently, the Nawng Nang Kachin Theological College and Seminary (KTCS) is running as usual and it is reported that the SAC forces are usually patrolling around the village and they are currently staying at the locals’ home.
Therefore, the KTCS students and the Nawng Nang locals are worried due to the current SAC’s movement within the village. In addition, it is reported that the SAC forces currently residing at the No (3) Police Station Checkpoint which is located 2 miles away from the KTCs.
