Since the commencement of the KIA joint forces' offensive on March 7, the military camps of the SAC situated along the Myitkyina-Nam San Yang highway have been subjected to attacks and subsequent occupation by the KIA joint forces. As a result, many displaced individuals have begun to return to their residences and are in the process of restoring their homes. However, local sources indicate that these individuals continue to require substantial assistance.

A displaced individual expressed that after spending ten years evacuating to safety due to the civil war, he is now faced with the challenge of starting anew and constructing a home for himself. Consequently, he encounters numerous difficulties in the present circumstances and continues to require assistance.

“Upon my initial evacuation to safety, I relinquished all my belongings, necessitating a fresh start in the present. We lost everything as a result of the conflicts. Furthermore, it has been ten years since we abandoned our possessions, and we are only now beginning the process of recovery. It will require significant effort to restore what we once had. We are in dire need of assistance and support. We are also looking to social relief organizations for aid, as our situation remains quite challenging,” he stated.

Although the displaced individuals are making arrangements to return to their homes, it remains unfeasible for them to reside with their families. This is due to the ongoing deficiencies in essential services within the village, including healthcare, education, electricity, and access to clean drinking water.

A displaced individual expressed, "I am truly thankful to return to my hometown, and I extend my gratitude to the government. However, as we must start anew, achieving this will require the support of everyone involved. We are still quite distant from being able to reunite and reside with our families, as numerous aspects of rehabilitation remain to be addressed."

Local residents from the areas liberated by the SAC, including N Bun, Gan Dau Yang, Ja Pu, and Kazu villages situated between Myitkyina and Nam San Yang, are beginning to make preparations for their return home. Since the resurgence of civil conflict in 2011, many individuals from these regions have sought refuge in KIO-controlled territories, while others have fled to Myitkyina.

It is recognized that the regions in question are sites of previous conflicts, leading to landmine detonations during the clearance operations. Additionally, it is understood that the villages situated along the roadway exercise heightened caution and refrain from venturing beyond the established boundaries. Following the offensive by the KIA joint forces, all military camps of the SAC along the Myitkyina-Bhamo highway have been assaulted and seized, resulting in the KIO administrative body commencing operations and exerting control over the newly acquired territories.
