Following the death of U La San Aung Wa, the head of the Lawa Yang militia affiliated with the SAC, local inhabitants are expressing apprehension regarding their safety, as SAC personnel have been conducting military operations within the militia's territory.
Since the beginning of December, close to 100 soldiers from the SAC have been infiltrating the villages of Gwi Htu, Nawng Hkring, Labang Kahtawng, and Ngan, areas under the control of the Lawa Yang militia leader U La San Aung Wa. This has instilled a sense of fear among local residents regarding the potential for an outbreak of skirmishes.
SAC soldiers are reported to have extorted money from individuals passing by, subjected them to interrogation, issued threats, and even committed acts of torture, culminating in the fatal shooting of a civilian. The victim, a Kachin national, was returning from a hunting expedition when he encountered soldiers positioned along a forest road, where he was subsequently tortured and killed under suspicion.

As a result of the persistent conflict, over a thousand individuals from the Waing Maw region have been seeking refuge in the previously mentioned area since the leadership of militia commander U Lasan Aung Wa. Following the demise of U Lasan Aung Wa, the State Administration Council (SAC) has been executing extensive military operations, leading to heightened concerns among the local population regarding their safety and the potential for additional clashes.
