Kachin State - In the Putao area, phone internet lines have been restored to normal functionality as of June 24. Local residents reported that stores and gas stations have reopened, and residents roaming inside the town have resumed regularly.

The phone internet lines, which had been down for nearly a month, are now operational again, with the exception of Mytel SIM cards.

"Phone lines have been restored since yesterday, but internet service remains spotty. MPT signals are unavailable when Atom signals work, and vice versa. Ooredoo signals also fluctuate, and Mytel signals are still completely unavailable," said a Putao resident.

In Putao, most shops, including major gas stations and grocery stores, have resumed normal operations. Prices of essential goods such as rice, oil, salt, garlic, onions, and fuel have decreased significantly. Salt, previously priced at 6,000 kyats, is now 1,500 kyats per pack, and a bag of rice that cost nearly 300,000 kyats is now 80,000 kyats. Fuel prices have dropped from around 50,000 kyats per liter to 8,500 kyats, with other product prices also seeing slight reductions.

The closure of the Myitkyina-Putao highway had led to a fuel shortage since May, disrupting the operation of various communication towers and cutting phone and internet lines. The three-month closure due to conflict between armed forces resulted in significant shortages and soaring prices of goods, including fuel.
