People Out After 10 PM Have Been Arrested and Prosecuted in Myitkyina Town

According to local residents, the SAC has issued a curfew order starting May 20 in Myitkyina, with instructions to shoot those who are out after 10:00 PM.

Since the curfew was imposed, the SAC has been routinely interrogating pedestrians.

A local resident who was questioned stated, "When I was returning home at 8:30 PM, not even 9:00 PM, police and soldiers were waiting at the intersection near No (1) Basic Education High School, stopping and questioning pedestrians. Because I was on a motorbike, they asked me to open the tool box and inquired about my whereabouts and residence. Since it was still early, they didn't ask many questions."

Furthermore, on June 4th, a total of 20 men and women from Rampu, Ayezay Thi, Shwe Nyaung Pin, and Kyat Paung Gyan Wards were arrested and detained by various security forces for violating the curfew.

Those who violated the curfew were charged under Section-188 of the Penal Code and arrested. They were arraigned in court, and the 5 cars and 8 motorbikes they were using are also being inspected according to the law.

It is also reported that the arrest and prosecution of Section-144 curfew violators have already started in Myitkyina, and those who break the curfew will continue to be arrested and prosecuted.
