The military council has carried out another drone attack near Laiza, the headquarters of the Kachin Independence Organization (KIO), in the early hours of this morning, according to local residents.
A resident of Laiza reported that the attack took place around 2:00 a.m., causing tremors in the area.
"This morning, around 2 a.m., the house shook. We don't know exactly where the attack occurred or the extent of the damage," the resident said.
The precise location of the explosion and the level of destruction remain unclear. However, another resident mentioned that drones had been spotted flying in the vicinity late last night, shortly before the explosion.
"Some people in charge said there had been an unusual number of drones flying around last night," another local source stated.
The attack comes after the military council lost several small outposts under No. 21 Military Operations Command (MOC-21) in Bhamo. In January, after losing key armored and artillery bases, the military also launched suicide drone attacks in the region.
Meanwhile, intense clashes persist in Bhamo, where the joint forces of the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and other revolutionary groups have successfully breached the MOC-21 base, taking down several military council positions and drones.
