MYITKYINA, June 21 - Several major gas stations in Myitkyina town have closed today due to fuel shortages. Some stations that remain open have posted signs indicating they are running out of gas.

The Asia Energy, Tine Kyaw, and Regency gas stations have shut down, while Top and Zayar Min gas stations are operating on limited hours. These stations are also rationing fuel, selling only 30,000 to 50,000 kyats worth of fuel per car and 5,000 to 10,000 kyats per motorcycle. They have stopped selling petrol and diesel to customers with jerry cans.

Despite the closure of major stations, some roadside shops continue to sell gasoline by the bottle, with prices ranging from 6,000 to 9,000 kyats per liter bottle.
