After the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) took control of Chiphwi Town, government offices operating under the State Administration Council (SAC), including the public school and hospital, were shut down. Local government personnel from Chiphwi have reported that the Kachin Independence Organization (KIO) has started reorganizing the administration under its jurisdiction.

A staff member from Chiphwi Public School mentioned, "The transition happened quickly. Once the KIA took over Chiphwi, the SAC-run government offices closed, and the KIO administration was established. The public school has since been rebranded as a KIO institution. While many staff members have left, some remain at the school."

Military tensions between the joint KIA forces and SAC forces have escalated since September 29th. A local source told Pajau Media that after the KIA joint forces captured the SAC's police station and military bases, including Chiphwi Town, on October 1st, all SAC-run government offices were shut down, and the KIO quickly assumed control.

The KIA has attacked and taken over SAC military camps and police stations, including Chiphwi Town, located within the Kachin Special Region (1). However, SAC forces continue to carry out daily airstrikes. Many local residents have fled to safer areas, with some temporarily taking refuge in the forests surrounding Chiphwi Town.

In a similar move, the KIA joint forces have reportedly launched a successful offensive against SAC military camps and militia outposts in Sawlaw town, under the control of the No. 7 Brigade and No. 46 Battalion.

Starting on September 29th, the KIA joint forces began a four-day offensive in the Chiphwi region, leading to the successful capture of SAC military camps in Chiphwi, Sawlaw, and Shangaw.
