The Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and Kachin People’s Defense Force (KPDF) have successfully captured four military council camps in the area of the KIA's 9th Brigade.
On June 24th, at 5:30 AM, KIA joint forces attacked and occupied the military council camps at Naung Lute and Chaung Wa. Clearing operations in the area are currently underway.
Similarly, on June 23rd, at 8:30 PM, the KIA and KPDF forces captured the Nyaung Pyin camp, a joint camp of the military council army and Shanni militias. Later, at 6:45 PM, Wei Lung Camp was also captured.
The KIA joint forces have been attacking the military council camps at Chaung Wa, Wei Lung, and Nyaung Pyin since June 22nd.
During the conflict, the military council army responded with heavy weapon bombardments and airstrikes, forcing residents in the area to flee to safety.
