The 77th anniversary of Kachin State Day is being commemorated with heightened security measures at the Kachin State Government Office in Myitkyina, overseen by the leadership of the SAC.
The event was graced by the presence of nine Union Ministers who are part of the SAC, local militia leaders, representatives from the Ethnic Literature and Traditional Culture Association, as well as the commander and officers of the Northern Military Command.
Kachin State Day featured the Padang Manau dance, a traditional performance by the Kachin ethnic group that commemorates their victories in battle. The event was marked by heightened security measures, alongside a vibrant market festival.
The SAC has expressed its approval regarding the inauguration of the Ayeyarwady Shu Khin Thar, the Manaw, and the Cultural Museum, which commenced operations on January 9 in honor of the 77th anniversary of Kachin State Day.
Kachin State Day was also commemorated at the high school and the Kachin Baptist Church located in Man Wein Village, Mansi Township, an area under the control of the Kachin Independence Organization, as reported by local residents.
The event took place in a bustling environment, attended by students, parents, and pastors. Additionally, the students celebrated Kachin State Day by performing a traditional Manau dance.
Kachin State Day was officially established on January 10, 1948, and has since been commemorated with Manaw dances held at Manaw Stadium in Sitapru Ward, Myitkyina. The year 2025 signifies the 77th anniversary of this important occasion.
On the occasion of the 77th anniversary of Kachin State Day, the "Kachin National Forum-KNF" organization has released a statement urging all individuals to unite in the effort to establish a new federal democratic state that embodies equality and self-determination, which reflects the fundamental aspirations of the people, while also calling for the prompt elimination of the military dictatorship.
