As per the intelligence gathered from the frontline, the SAC’s NamGawn Military Base Camp, situated within the vicinity of KIA’s No. 2 Brigade and No. 14 Battalion groups, came under a joint offensive attack launched by the KIA and the People’s Defense Forces (PDF) on the morning of March 18. The operation resulted in the successful capture of the base camp by the evening.

The offensive was initiated by the KIA at 5:00 AM, targeting the SAC’s No. 297 and No. 318 infantry battalions, which were under the command of Captain Nay Yel Linn. Simultaneously, the SAC military camp located in Tanai provided constant heavy weapons support.

Furthermore, it has been reported that the SAC forces employed airstrikes on at least three occasions, dropping a total of five aerial bombs. Despite these efforts, the KIA managed to capture the SAC’s military camp by 8:00 PM. Subsequently, it was reported that the KIA forces proceeded to burn down the captured camp.

Despite the Kachin Independence Army’s (KIA) successful attack and capture of the SAC’s NamGawn military base camp, there remain three significant SAC military base camps that have yet to be captured. Consequently, the two armed groups continue to experience military tensions, as reported by a frontline source.

Since March 7, the KIA and joint forces have launched attacks and successfully captured over (30) SAC camps, resulting in the detention of more than three hundred (300) SAC soldiers by the KIA.
