In January 2025, the BNI-Myanmar Peace Monitor reported that Kachin State experienced 12 confrontations between the KIA and the SAC forces, along with 8 airstrikes.
12 clashes took place in the Bhamo and Mansi regions, leading to a total of 24 civilian casualties.
In Myanmar, there have been a total of 115 skirmish incidents, 68 airstrikes conducted by the State Administration Council (SAC), 51,000 residents evacuated for their safety, 210 civilian fatalities, and 285 civilian injuries reported.
The clashes between the two armed-forces in the Bhamo region remain fierce, with the KIA making progress towards the 21st battalion and having taken control of the majority of the military camps belonging to the SAC.
The SAC persists in its aerial and drone assaults amid the intense skirmish, while the KIA joint forces maintain their offensive operations.
