A statement issued by the Burma Women's Union (BWU) on January 20 reported that in 2024, the SAC in Myanmar was responsible for the deaths of 478 women and injuries to 412 others due to a series of attacks, which included airstrikes and artillery bombardments.

More than 400 women have reportedly lost their lives due to the aerial bombings conducted by the SAC, as well as from artillery fire, landmines, and acts of sexual violence.

The greatest number of fatalities resulting from the SAC's terrorist attacks was recorded in the Sagaing Region (109), followed by Shan State (92), Rakhine State (83), and various other regions.

The rise in female fatalities can also be attributed to the SAC’s using the civilians as human shields, with the report indicating that most of these deaths involve women aged 25 and older.

Since the establishment of the SAC's military dictatorship in 2021, there has been a yearly rise in the number of women who have lost their lives due to acts of violence.

The Burma Women's Rights Association is actively seeking international intervention regarding the fatalities of women and the human rights abuses perpetrated by the SAC in Myanmar.
