Displaced individuals who escaped following the commencement of the KIA joint force's offensive to seize Bhamo are reported to require shelter, medical assistance, and various other vital resources.

Displaced individuals who escaped from Bhamo as a result of the conflict that commenced on December 4 are presently residing in internally displaced persons (IDP) camps located in Momauk Township, an area now under the control of the Kachin Independence Organization (KIO). Additionally, some of these individuals are staying with local families in villages that have relatively few members.

Displaced individuals from Daw Phong Yang have reported facing significant challenges as they have been forced to evacuate due to ongoing skirmishes. They lack sufficient household items and blankets. With winter conditions prevailing, there are individuals suffering from illness within the internally displaced persons (IDP) camp, necessitating urgent access to medicine, warm clothing, blankets, and other essential household items, in addition to a reliable supply of drinking water.

As of December 19, 2024, statistics indicate that more than 2,800 individuals have been displaced in Daw Phong Yang as a result of the conflict in Bhamo. Additionally, over 11,000 displaced persons have sought refuge in regions that are now under the northern control of the KIO government in Momauk Township.
